On 2 June, AIA Seattle’s Committee on Homelessness will host a panel discussion on House our Neighbor’s Initiative 135. The panelists include Larch Lab’s Michael Eliason, economist Paul Williams, Real Change Policy Director Tiffani McCoy, and Tech 4 Housing’s Suresh Chanmugam.
Panelists will discuss Initiative Measure I-135, the concept of social housing, and how it can be applied to Seattle’s housing needs. Larch Lab’s Eliason has worked with I-135’s authors to craft the legislation to prioritize the Passivhaus standard for new housing, as well as retrofits. This would make one of the most forward-looking housing proposals in the entire U.S.
The event begins at 5.30 PM, and will be held at the Center for Architecture and Design. Additional information and registration here.
